Introdution to Horror

Horror films are designed to frighten and
invoke our hidden worst fears, captivating and  entertaining us at the same time.

a dictionary defines the word Horror as:
an overwhelming and painful feeling caused by something frightfully shocking, terrifying, or revolting; a shuddering fear: to shrink back from a mutilated corpse in horror.

In a catharthic experience horror films  feature a wide range of styles, from the earliest silent Nosferatu classic to todays CGI monsters and deranged humans.

Common sub-genres to horror are:
                                                       ghosts/hauntings
 slashers
 psychological horror
                                     serial killers
                                     supernatural horror
                                     zombies
